ProHealth Medical Clinic is pleased to inform you that Dr. Tommy Chan (MBBS, FRCPC), neurologist with a Headache Medicine Subspecialty is accepting referrals for patients with non-urgent primary headache disorders including onabotulinumtoxin A treatment for chronic migraines He is available to offer both office consultation and virtual telemedicine clinics for non-OHIP and OHIP patients.

Dr. Lik Hang Tommy Chan is a dual board-certified neurologist in Canada and United States of America (Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry). He completed a 5-year adult neurology residency training program at the University of Western Ontario, Canada in 2019. He was appointed as chief neurology resident in 2018. He went on to complete his subspecialty training in Headache Medicine at Stanford University, USA in 2020. His interests include migraine, tension headache, concussion, occipital neuralgia and medication overuse (rebound) headache. 

He believes in a holistic approach to headache management including lifestyle modifications, nutraceuticals, medicines and procedures. Dr. Chan is qualified in performing onabotulinum toxin A injections for the treatment of chronic migraines and has performed more than 1000 procedures in his training at Stanford University. 

Languages: 

*Fluent in English and Cantonese; limited working proficiency in Mandarin 

Criteria for referral: 

*Age greater than or equal to 18 years old

*Non-urgent primary headache disorders, such as migraines and tension type headaches

*Accepting referrals for non-OHIP onabotulinumtoxin A treatment for chronic migraines

Exclusions 

  1. If concern of a secondary cause of headache presentation requiring urgent/semi-urgent head imaging. 
  2. Other neurological referrals due to the part time nature of the practice.
